About the Day...
Did you ever go to an event to hear someone speak and wish you could just sit down and talk to that person for a while?
(This photo and the photos below were candid shots taken by Kathy Chism, Marc Durand, and Maryvel Tenaya...be sure to visit Helene Barbara's link above for the professional photos of the day - thank you.)
Attendees did that. Among trees. Among friends.
We gathered world paradigm shifters, incredible visionaries, powerful peace activists, people who have made radical changes for good in their own lives and other lives, people truly making a difference...to assemble as ONE in a magical forest in northern California for a full and enLIGHTening day.
Speakers on board were (in order of appearance at event):
From CA - Kathy Chism, visionary, founder, director, and CED (chief executive dreamer!) of Dream One World and Power of Know. Kathy works to shift global consciousness to bring people, places, and animals peace and healing. She believes we are all ONE, and by simply flying the F.L.A.G. of Forgiveness, Love, Acceptance, and Gratitude at all times,we can achieve true peace and healing worldwide. (www.dreamoneworld.org and www.powerofknow.org)
Kathy about to introduce the event and speakers...her introduction speech is at the end of this page.
From CA - Lisa Rea, Founder and President of The Justice & Reconciliation Project (JRP), a national restorative justice organization working with victims of violent crime to help change the lives of offenders and open doors for healing in the lives of victims and their families.

A day of smiles...

Those who attended are already changing the world just by being present, for together we experienced a unity consciousness that we took forth from that day...and just by BEing, are igniting awareness and shifts in others.

Those who were not able to attend, but who spent the day connecting their hearts to this event, are doing the same.
To follow is Kathy's introductory speech about the day...GIVE yourself a deep breath, picture yourself in the forest with the sun filtering through the trees, surrounded by loving family, and read on...
Hi…My name is Kathy Chism, and for anyone who thinks they can’t manifest what they want in their life, I AM looking around, seeing living proof of a dream manifested right now, and can say without a doubt, YES YOU CAN!
Seeing you here, knowing the time and effort you all took to make the journey to be in this incredible forest today, is simply ONE-der-FULL.
Thank you all for being here, and welcome to our family reunion…the family of man-KIND. That is what today is all about. Being kind to ourselves, to one another, and to our earth. Knowing who we really are, why we are here, and what we can do to heal ourselves, each other, and our planet.
Why July 23rd? Well, for those of you who read the suggested Anastasia book, Anastasia talks constantly about her beloved dachniks, the gardeners in Russia. Today is The Dachnik Day Holiday in Russia, honoring millions of gardeners and celebrating Man’s connectedness to the Earth. This holiday is now celebrated all over the world, and I liked knowing that so many others are communing with Nature today as we are in these ancient woods.
Some of you traveled 15 minutes, some 3,000 miles, and many others had plans to attend, but then life stuff prevented their bodies from being here…however, they are all here in spirit. We have five states and two countries represented today in this gathering. We have many religions and belief systems among you, many nationalities, many educational backgrounds, many ages, many world views…
And we are all going to have a lot of fun, learn a lot, and be ambassadors for change and healing when we leave.
As we are trying to keep supplies and trash to a minimum and recycle as much as possible, I suggest writing your name on everything – the folders have a Dreamworker card inside, and as you are all Dreamworkers today, feel free to write your name on that. Cups, goodie bags, etc. - you will want to write your name on all of them with the markers provided.
Speaking of goodie bags, among other things, there is a little book of paper and a pen in there. Please get them out now, as you will be using them in a few minutes…and please put your name on the book. You may also want to jot down notes from the day in it as gems of wisdom are given from all who are here.
Now, on to acceptance. There is a wonderful lesson I learned from Michael Tamura at an event Maureen Moss held in Seattle recently that I would love to share with all of you right now. Please close your eyes, and "TAKE" a deep breath. Good. Now, keeping your eyes closed “GIVE” yourself a deep breath.
That is the difference between taking and giving. I don’t know about you, but GIVING myself a deep breath always feels more peaceful, I can take more air in, and it is quieter.
Giving to oneself is very, very important. In speaking about acceptance, although there were so many directions I wanted to go in, I was guided to these three parts: Accepting Oneself, Accepting Others, and Accepting What Is.
Here is what I know to be true. We are all ONE. When we bring judgment to ourselves or another human being, we diminish our own growth, for at that moment we are not operating as our higher selves.
The more I played with this, the simpler it got. First, how can you possibly accept someone else if you can’t accept absolutely everything about yourself? You can’t.
I have asked so many people throughout my life if they have ever said “I love you” to themselves in a mirror. Most of them giggle nervously and say "No, of course not – I could never do that.”
What?!
We are all perfect beings, and for those familiar with Dr. Masuro Emoto’s book "Hidden Messages in Water," or if you saw the movie “What the Bleep Do We Know,” you already know what not loving a part or all of your self does to the physical body. It’s not good.
So, here is the first little piece of homework for you. (Please forgive me, I used to be a 4th grade teacher!)
Sometime today or tonight, get in front of a mirror, look deep into your own eyes, and say “I love you” to yourself. Even if you have done it before, or even if you feel goofy, just do it. There are mirrors in the rest rooms here for those brave souls who want to get started early on shifting consciousness.
Now if you want to shift even faster, say to your self “I forgive you, I love you, I accept you, and I am grateful for you.” This is really easy to remember, because its little acronym is F.L.A.G. – Forgiveness, Love, Acceptance, Gratitude.
OK, so now you are opening up to accepting yourself unconditionally, but ooooh, that neighbor down the street who plays his music at 2AM, or that boss that gives you extra work at 4:30 on a Friday, or those oil guys jacking up the price of fuel, or the price of health care, or people who just don’t get global warming, or those horrible suicide bombers, or people who molest children…nope, there is no way you are going to accept any of that, right?
Right NOW, please open your little book of paper, and write down something that you feel would be impossible for you to accept, impossible for you to forgive…
This is a day to shift paradigms. You know, when civilizations ended in the past, and new ones began, there were new thought processes brought into being. Our own country of America was a thought process that manifested.
So what if with all the bad news swirling around every time you turn on the TV and radio because it sells copy...what if there is actually another movement happening worldwide that is filled with good news and we just aren’t hearing too much about it?
There is. There are so many millions of people who are doing good in the world, feeding the hungry, inventing solutions for our earth, rescuing animals, etc…and they largely go unnoticed...
Yet that doesn’t mean the shift isn’t happening, and we, as ambassadors for change, can accelerate the process.
Do you remember that commercial years ago on TV about some hair product, and she told two people, and they told two people, and so on and so on? Well, that is our job when we leave here today…
I would invite you to play with the idea that if we accept everyone and everything, unconditionally, that only good will come of it.
I’m going to say that again. If we accept everyONE and everything, unconditionally, only good will come of it.
Imagine the next time someone cuts you off on the road while you are driving, and instead of having an instant reaction of anger and perhaps some unusual gesturing, you instantly say, “I forgive you” to that person. Perhaps they are racing to a hospital to see a sick friend, perhaps they are running late and will lose their job if they aren’t on time…who knows? The point is, it is not our place to judge them, and it is not good for our selves to sit in anger.
Let it GO, and move on.
Now imagine you make a conscious choice every time you are with someone to see that person as yourself, a long lost twin as it were, someone you love with all of your heart. Yes, I know this isn’t easy sometimes, particularly when you may feel betrayed, or hurt by that person…yet what does staying in anger do for you?
Now I am not suggesting that you become a doormat for everyone. What I am saying is to always come from LOVE, and if a situation or person in your life isn’t for your highest good, here are eight powerful words told to me over twenty years ago:
“Bless them, and send them on their way.”
About ten years ago when another situation cropped up that seemed quite desperate, a good friend said, “Kathy, in 100 years, is anyone going to care about this issue you are having?” No…and it instantly diffused the upset around it and I got clarity about what I needed to do.
Your true self is not burdened, is not plugged in to the minutiae of everyday life on this earthplane. Your true self is an enlightened being. I would suggest you keep that little notebook with you at all times until consciously coming from love becomes second nature. Make a note whenever you realize you have just judged something or someone…including when that someone is yourself.
It isn’t always second nature for me yet, either…for those of you who read my last Dream One World newsletter, it seems like ever since I got the idea for this day, I have had all sorts of lessons put in front of me to see if I am just talking the talk or walking the walk…and at times it has not been easy.
However, the minute I GO to accepting the situation, forgiving those around me, loving myself, and actually being grateful for the whole experience, wow, does my life leap into a whole new wonderful and expansive place. You will get affirmations like this the more you do it.
We are the ONES. Everyone sitting here has an opportunity to be a beacon of truth and light in the world. We get a million chances a day to make choices about how we perceive things – this day is to encourage being really, really aware of the choices we make in every moment, and becoming more alive and joyful through those choices.
There is a little baby food jar with a candle inside your goodie bags. The significance is because my life changed dramatically when I made a choice in 2004 to assist an island in the Bahamas where I had lived for four years when it was devastated by two hurricanes. I started raising money to send to a dear friend of mine there, and she was amazing in getting supplies of baby food, formula, diapers, etc., to the hardest hit settlements. The flame was lit in me to keep going, and Dream One World was born.
I invite you to obviously not light the candle here, (as we are in a forest in California!), but tonight find some quiet time. Light the candle, get out the little book where you wrote what you could never, ever, ever forgive and accept, GIVE yourself a deep breath, and instead of focusing on the bad, see what good can come of that situation. Then accept it, and let it GO.
Notice immediately how you feel when you do that. My guess is you’ll feel lighter.
That is tonight, and this is now. I don’t know about you, but I always feel a little sad when I go to an event of any kind, and don’t really meet most of the attendees. This can be at a wedding, a seminar, whatever. I always leave wondering who were all those people, and why they were there?
So, in order to shift that paradigm, it felt important to me for everyone here at our family reunion to be introduced. So in that vein, we are going to take a little time to simply have each person state their name, where they traveled from to get here, and one sentence about why they came today. Remember, you are not being judged, this is just a family get-together, and this is an opportunity to get to know each other a little bit better.
Thank you all again so much for coming. It is perfect timing for all of us. As my dear friend Maureen Moss says, “A time comes when you stop judging and pointing fingers and you begin to accept people as they are, including yourself. You begin to overlook shortcomings and human frailties…and in the process, a sense of peace and contentment is born of forgiveness for those around you.
The time is NOW."
With love and gratitude from Kathy Chism, Founder/Director of Dream One World, Inc.
